Lukas and Aidan pics from June 29th

Happy 4th of July!

It's been a while since I've posted. Boys are getting bigger and stronger, they are off all their tubes and feeding on bottles now. Yeahh!!!As of July 1st... Aidan weighed 4 lbs. 13oz. and Lukas weighed 5 lbs 7oz. Aidan has had is eyes checked several times after his surgery and is showing signs of progress but not totally out of the woods yet. The optimologist wants to check them one more time before they go home. Oh, that might be in 2 weeks...holy cow! The top 2 pics were taken today by Daddy. (Aidan is the 1st pic, Lukas in the 2nd) The other pic used on the flag was from a few days ago. (Lukas on left, Aidan on right)

6/13/10 Visit

Yesterday, Denise met Jerad, the girls, and I at the track to watch the go-cart races then her and I left there and went to the hospital. It was sooooo hot here in VA! It has been about a week I think since my last visit. They change so fast, looking cute as ever. Denise got to do kangaroo care (where they lay their skin to her bare skin on her chest with their heads near her heart)with both boys at the same time. It was so cute seeing the boys so close together. I wonder what they think about when they see each other. LOL It was also great to see how happy and proud Dee is when she gets to hold them. Her face just lights up. The only bad part was I didn't get to hold them, AGAIN! But, I totally understand that we have to limit the amount of holding and stimulation to once per day so they can grow and get stronger. Of course I want to do what ever is best for them, so I will wait patiently for my turn for giving them some loving.

After getting kicked out of the NICU for their 6:30-8:00 closing, we went out for a delicious king crab dinner while enjoying the water view. Then we went back to the hospital for one last visit before bed. I will copy and paste Dee's medical update to this page from her other website later, this way I don't have to worry about giving out any wrong information. She is getting much better than I am at all this technical jargon since she spends so much time there with the nurses.

I will be back up there Friday night to sleep there because we have an early flight to catch to CT for Saturday's baby shower. So, I will get to see them again then. Yeahh! Of course, I can't post without adding MORE pictures so here a few more taken last night. ~Love, Lisa~

They are here!!!

Haven't updated in a month and look what happens....Aidan James and Lukas Leo arrived on May 23, 2010...Aidan arrived at 3:23pm 1 lb 13oz and Lukas at 4:21pm @ 3lb 3oz. (Wow!...almost an hour apart!) Original due date was August 5, 2010(although Dr. V. said he wanted them delivered by the 3rd week of July)They arrived at 29wks and 3 days. They are now in the NICU with a WONDERFUL staff at Riverside Regional in Newport News and although there are many up and downs with their hearts and lungs which is expected for premies they are progressing and getting stronger each day.

Rather than to have to repeat all the medical happenings and progress I will re-direct you to the new website which will tell the whole story of what has been going on since their birth. Please follow to this website: http://www.babyhomepages.net/sgandurratwins/

What a journey this has been! Now I guess we will have to add a new chapter before the chapter begins in CT where they can start enjoying their life as a family. Thank you to all our family and friends for your continued support, love, and prayers especially in these sometimes scary sometimes joyful times we are all going through. I plan on adding one more post to this site before my part is done in all of this since everyone has been asking how I have been doing. But I would rather hold off for now and focus this on those precious little boys. ~Love, Lisa~

And now from our budding photographer Amanda....

This was Amanda's photoshoot taken 4/27/10. (just a couple days before 26 weeks) She loves taking pics just like her mommy :)

26 Weeks today!

Did we really not update this since 18 weeks?? OMG!! We are so bad! Anyhoooo, lets see to sum up old news first (which everyone already heard by now)... Dee, JJ, and I had the echo-cardiogram while I was back home in CT for Easter and everything checked out just fine. They are going to do it one more time in June just to make sure nothing has changed. But it looks like there was nothing to worry about. The rest of the anatomy scan was A-OK as well after a 2 HOUR ultrasound. Uggh! And yes it was confirmed it is definitely two boys. I now have a framed blown-up pic of baby A's private parts from mom and dad asking me to be Godmother that I am sure he will appreciate me having when he is old enough to realize it. LOL. And the names chosen as of now at least...AIDEN AND LUKAS. Yeah!!!!

Had my regular monthly appointment April 17th in Gloucester and then my high-risk apt in Richmond yesterday April 28th. As usual everything was just fine. Babies heart rates and growth are right on track. Yesterday they weighed in at 1 lb 12oz and 2 lbs 3 oz. I could not believe it!! So cool, thank goodness they take after their parents just in case they come early they should be big enough. According to the Baby Center website they are about 14in. long now. These ultrasound pics were taken yesterday, I labeled them for those who are U/S handicapped and therefore can not figure out what the heck they are looking at. LOL I have the original pics if anyone wants to see those too.

Oh and by the way I'm doing fine too. Another good pregnancy. Only thing I can really complain about is waking up several times a night to switch sides and get comfortable. I can't wait to be able to sleep on my tummy again. And lower back pain if I stand or walk to long.

Another Thursday, another week. Week 18!!

Here is the update from The Baby Center website this week...

How your baby's growing:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

In other news...went to Richmond to Chippenham Hospital a couple days ago for another ultrasound. They want me to go every 4 weeks now. So much for switching doctors offices so I wouldn't have to travel as much. I thought going to Newport News was bad enough, guess not. LOL Oh well, I will do whatever it takes to make sure everything is going well, even if it includes about a little over 3 hours round trip drive every 4 weeks. *Uhh, get back on track to the news Lisa* So anyway, everything looked great, Heart rates fine, growth right on track (Baby A over 7 oz. and baby B 8oz), anatomy (heart structure, bowels, legs, arms, etc) Speaking of anatomy...I did see what the gender of the babies were, well at least one definite one questionable still. I also see Dee sent out a email to about 25 people with the announcement, but just in case she did not tell a few family members I will not post that here.

Well, Amanda is waiting (not very patiently I may add) to use the computer to play her Facebook games. My next appointment is March 17th at my reg. OBGYN for the routine prenatal check-up. Then it is off to Connecticut where I will see Dr. Viscarello with Dee and JJ. I can't wait until that appointment where they will get to see them and hear the heartbeats in person, and maybe more confirmation on the sexes. :)

wk 15...prayers please!!!

It's been sometime since we have blogged on here..We are already 15wks into our pregnancy..Lisa is feeling great, starting to show more, wearing maternity pants and shirts..lol..at the large 119lbs..ugh!!the babies are the size of apples this week and 4 inches long each..We did get some scary news this week and would ask for continued prayers..

Baby reading has actually not been so good lately..Tuesday when we got home from my knee surgery, JJ received a message from Lisa that the highrisk dr had called and some results on Baby A came back as high risk. Neural Tubal Defect/heart condition..so all my researching has gone to that..and at times I slam the computer closed and try not to think about.. When Lisa went for her 12wk high risk appointment for level 1 measurements the dr came in and gave a thumbs up..then once the blood results came back and measured with the fluid on the back of baby A's neck we lost the thumbs up...Baby A, might have a heart condition but we will not know more until week 21...the high risk dr in VA would like to do fetal echo-cardiogram sooner but they do believe waiting until closer to 22 wks we will have a clearer picture of the entire heart and all areas they need to look at.. Lisa is coming home the weekend of March 27th..I made her level 2 ultrasound and fetal echo-cardiogram for that Monday the 29th...so we sit and wait until then to see what is going on..and then hopefully can find out the sexes that day as well.. The nurse in VA told us to look up info on the March of Dimes website and that was not a good idea at all..to much negative info...Lisa went to her reg obgyn on Thursday, Feb 11th.. just for a routine appointment for urine, heartbeats, weight..etc...all was good there..but the dr again said we just need to sit and wait until the fetal echo-cardiogram to see what is going on..Dr. Viscarello has all our info here in Stamford..he is our highrisk dr..We are very confident in him, so will will just wait and see..

Baby B is doing great, no issues at all. Both babies are continuing to meet developmental stages of growth each week..Lisa has been amazing through this journey and continues to hold our twins very close to her heart and take the best care of them..She tells us they are letting her know when they are hungry now...I told her good..maybe she will hit 120lbs in this pregnancy..lol..eat! eat!

Anymore results we will keep you all updated..thanks again for all the support and prayers..

Babies Updated...another ultrasound 1/13/10

Hey all,
Babies are continuing to grow..we are in week 11 already!!! Lisa went for another doctor's appointment on Weds-1/13. She started with a new dr's group today. She said they were great. They are setting her up to see a high risk doctor in Richmond do to twins and age. Lisa will return on the 11th of February for another follow up appointment with this dr's group and have some testing done at that time. Hoping we can find out the sexes then. JJ and I have started to look at cribs, strollers, high chairs, etc..just want to get ourselves ready for what to expect with twins. A friend of mine bought me this fabulous book about twins and states.."don't listen to those folks with singletons..they just don't get it"...hahahha it does say that BUT I will take all the advice we can get. Lisa is now wearing maternity clothes...she is shocked that she had to bust out the bin already..damn Poisson/Sgandurra genes are busting through!!! Lisa has also agreed to deliver our babies in CT...YEAH!!! to Lisa and Jerad..and girls of course..We will take very good care of them when they arrive. We are hoping that Lisa will come mid June and stay until she is ready and feeling up to parting back to VA..if it was up to us we would steal her and keep her in CT. We are looking into using Dr. Viscarello in Stamford. He is a well known high risk doctor and has a fabulous reputation and following. Lisa has also stopped all meds, no more shots or supposotories..YEAH!! Now we just wait and pray that the placenta takes over and no issues arise from that next HUGE step...anymore info we will post soon. Thanks again to all for your love and support..and the biggest thanks to Lisa, Jerad, Amanda, and Jesse..you mean the world to us!!!

Latest Dr. Appointment

Went for my usual bloodwork and ultrasound Tuesday (Dec. 29th. Babies are A-OK. There size was right on track for where they should be for this week. Thought I would share some of the ultrasound pics with you all. This will be the last ultrasound for a while. No more every two weeks deal. Don't worry the babies are the same size, just doesnt look it because of the angles of the camera.

By the way, only one more week for the injections! Woohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Going back for just blood test on Wednesday.
